Gemmill Homes excelled at the Master Builders Association Awards recently, picking up five great awards with the highlight being the ‘Best Customer Service Award – Volume Project Builder’. The customer service award is based entirely on surveyed clients of each company. To win this award as voted by our customers is certainly a great achievement. We openly acknowledge we don’t always get it right but it’s how we respond and commit to satisfying our clients needs. Gemmill Homes was acknowledged for their group-wide commitment to customer service at the prestigious Master Builders Association (MBA) awards recently. The MBA awards is a showcase for the finest houses from Perth’s project builders, so it was a great achievement and honour to be named as a finalist in the Customer Service Category.
At the HIA 2011 Kitchen and Bathroom awards on Saturday night, both Gemmill and Goodlife Homes were the recipients of some worthy accolades.
During the evening we were named as finalists ten times, coming away with three major winners including:
- The Gemmill “Gallery” in Caversham received the award for best ensuite in its category.
- The Gemmill “Entertainer” in Wellard received the award for best kitchen in its category.
- The Goodlife “San Remo” in Lakelands also received the Best ensuite in its category.
These homes are cutting edge in design and quality of construction, and are well worth a visit.
It was rewarding to see that our hard work and efforts are being recognised by industry and subsequently by our customers who build with us. We have many new display designs coming through and also under construction, which will no doubt put us on centre stage again next year.

At Friday night’s HIA awards, Gemmill Homes were awarded for the second year, the “Builders Commitment to Training” award. A number of our apprentices were also awarded “Apprentice of the Year” in their trade (two of them for the second time) with several managing to rank as a finalist.
To stand on the podium, representing these “Gemmill” apprentices is a proud moment. To see our future sub-contractors (and future builders) get recognised for their hard work is rewarding for all involved.
The success of this program is only as good as the people who drive it; aptly managed by Gary Wilson together with all our supervisors, Gary takes a personal approach to the scheme and works tirelessly ensuring that our kids have the best possible opportunities available to them.
